Aim, Shoot and Score!
A revolutionary new programme ran over a full day that can be adapted to suit all age ranges.
The programme looks at youngster's life in a sporting context and the day starts of with a number of icebreaker and teambuilding activities to get the youngsters creative minds flowing.
The programme then gets the youngsters to actively talk about their aims in life and paint a picture either in story form or via painting a picture of where they see themselves being in 10 years time e.g. what kind of job they hope to have and house they wish to live in.
After this we look at the picture they have painted and then get them to think about where they are now. We then help identify that if that's where they wish to be in 10 years time what needs to be done in the short term to help them to get into a shooting position i.e. qualifications and transferable skills etc.
After lunch we then look at what kind of obstacles or 'defenders' if you like could get in the way of them in achieving their goals and we plan out the best way to give them the best chance of 'scoring' and ultimately achieving their goals.
Learning outcomes for the day are;
- To take responsibility for their own and others learning.
- To think about future careers they may wish to pursue.
- To develop an understanding of key transferable skills needed for employment.
- To build confidence and promote a 'can do' attitude.
